Custom-Built Bolts Debut at Sturgis

Roland Sands Design’s Custom Bolt

Low & Mean Custom Bolt

Cypress, CA August 5, 2013Earlier this year, nine of the motorcycle industry’s most renowned custom bike builders accepted a challenge with only one goal in mind; to inspire the imagination of Bolt fans and owners everywhere.

Each builder started with a Bolt as a blank canvas and began creating their masterpiece. The first two were released into the wild at the start of this year’s 73rd Annual Sturgis Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.

One look at Roland Sands Design’s Custom Bolt and you know the guys at RSD are all racers at heart. With styling cues from café racers and flat trackers, the bike just screams to be thrown sideways and backed into the turn at your local flat track race.

Chris Hagest and the boys at Low & Mean took their Bolt in a somewhat “lower” direction. Calling this bike futuristic cool doesn’t do the “Copper Bolt” justice, as Low & Mean designed a custom Bolt that definitely stands out in a crowd.

Both of these bikes will be featured in the Star Motorcycles display during Sturgis Bike Week and other upcoming shows.

This is just the beginning, with seven more bikes from the likes of Rooke Customs, Broward Motorsports, Sesto Customs, Jeff Palhegyi Designs, Chappell Customs, Doc’s Chops, M&M Customs and Dave Zemla of Burly Brand, taking center stage in the coming weeks.

Look for the next custom Bolt to be publically unveiled in the Star Motorcycles display at Indy MotoGP on August 16.
